License Manager Installation

This document provides a step by step installation of ETAP 5.5.6 License Manager, which is required for USB Key – ETAP-OTI 1410 and Parallel Port Key.   To install the network version of ETAP you need to install the ETAP 5.5.6 License Manager as provided in the enclosed ETAP 5.5.6 August 2007 CD.

After installation, ETAP 5.5.6 may prompt you for an Activation Code the first time you run the software. This 36-character activation code is located on the ETAP CD sleeve. If you are upgrading from the previous release of ETAP, the activation code can be found on your existing ETAP 5.5.6 CD sleeve.

Installation of the ETAP License Manager 5.5.6 is required for the following licenses:

  1. ETAP Network License, using parallel port or any ETAP USB keys.
  2. ETAP Stand Alone License, using the USB Key – ETAP-OTI 1600.

A label on the key identifies the key as “Stand Alone” or “Network”.  For the Network license, the License Manager and key are installed on a server PC and ETAP is installed on the client PC.  However, the Network license has the option to install ETAP, License Manager, and key on the same PC.  For the Stand Alone license, the ETAP application, the License Manager, and key must be installed on the same PC.

To continue with the installation instructions, first identify the type of license you are using.

  1. Are you using a Network or Stand Alone key?  A label on the key identifies the key as “Stand Alone” or “Network”.
  2. Are you using a USB Key – ETAP-OTI 1410 or a Parallel Port Key?  Identify the type of key you are using by referring to the pictures shown below.
