The
OTI Development Team is pleased to announce
the release
of ETAP 5.0.1. This is a point release
with several enhancements and modifications
including Arc Flash Module - IEEE 1584, IEC
Short-Circuit Module, ETAP Star (Device Coordination/Selectivity),
and Library.
ETAP
5.0.1 is a complete program and does not
require any previous ETAP installation. We
recommend that you utilize this latest release
in order to take advantage of the new features
and capabilities. We strive to provide our
customers with advanced features and industry
standard engineering tools. |

Transient Stability Validation Cases and Comparison Results |

ETAP
is Verified and Validated (V&V) against field results,
real system measurements, established programs, and hand
calculations in order to ensure its technical accuracy. Each
release of ETAP undergoes a complete V&V process using
hundreds of test cases for each and every calculation module.
Click

are specific to the Transient Stability program (including
Generator Start-Up and User-Defined Dynamic Model modules)
and are indicative of the type of tests performed for
this analysis. Note that all of these cases indicate
a very close correlation between ETAP simulated results
and field measurements or other programs. |

Gary
Donner Joins OTI |

Operation
Technology, Inc. is pleased to announce Gary Donner
has joined OTI as Project Manager for OTI’s Engineering
Consulting division. Mr. Donner is joining a team of
solution experts and will contribute to the design
and development of ETAP products due to his extensive
theoretical and practical hands on experience of power
system. Mr. Donner was a supervising engineer for instrument
and electric utilities for Shell Oil Products U.S.
based in Southern California. He retired from Shell
Oil Products after 35 years of service.

Star is an advanced concept in performing steady-state
and dynamic coordination, utilizing intelligent one-line
diagrams, comprehensive device libraries, and an integrated
three-dimensional database. ETAP 5.0.1 provides a tool
to import and convert the Time Current Curves (TCC) in
existing PowerPlot projects to ETAP Star.
