ETAP's Real-Time Energy Management Solution
Gets Global Attention |
 |
Dr. Farrokh Shokooh, President and CEO of Operation Technology, Inc., developers of ETAP, gave a keynote presentation at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia recently. He was invited there to participate in the 14th Saudi Technical Exchange Meeting. |
Dr. Shokooh's message: Integrating renewable energy to existing utility infrastructure requires a smart real-time energy management solution.
ETAP Real-Time is a suite of software tools that offers a fully integrated enterprise solution. Through continuous monitoring, simulation, and optimization, ETAP can predict possible unforeseen behaviors in order to proactively and intelligently compensate and automate the power grid. For any power system, anywhere, proactively maintaining system economy, reliability and stability at steady-state and transient conditions is naturally going to maximize the entire production process, reduce losses, and increase profits.
Rapidly evolving combinations of renewables around the world, such as wind, solar, and geothermal, will need smart real-time energy management systems. |

| ETAP Social Media Campaigns |
 |
OTI recognizes the need to keep all of its customers and friends informed about the events, activities, and plans of the company and ETAP. We take great pride in our Web site, newsletter, and other traditional forms of communication and presentation, but making sure we are also on the social media scene ensures that you can get up-to-the-minute information about ETAP. |
While some may believe that social media apps are nothing more than narcissistic toys, social media for business opens the door for opportunities and relationships that might not normally be found. Jobs have been found, partnerships have developed, and products get sold when social media is done right. In December 2008, Dell Outlet announced it made $1million online using links in Twitter. Facebook presents opportunities for posting events, running contests, and doing advertising campaigns in a highly interactive environment. And YouTube helps drive brand awareness to new levels, as well as providing the platform for delivering how-to product videos.

| "etap it!" - The New Blog for Power Systems Discussions |
 |
Blogs are primarily meant to provide commentary or news on a particular subject. While we do our best to keep the ETAP community informed through our Web site, press releases, and social media channels, we also wanted to provide a forum on power systems subjects that allow everyone to leave comments in an interactive format. Thus, we started etap it!. etap it! is our new blog located at etap.com/blog. |
The material will concentrate on subjects that open themselves up to the discussion and evolution of ideas. We'll even make sure a little fun is thrown in from time to time, such as giving you behind-the-scenes looks at ETAP and the people who make it all happen.
Our first post was about the importance of a renewable energy management system. Your comments to any blog post are invited, as well as submitting your own guest articles for us to possibly share. |
